The wedding in Christian Dior’s former house in central Paris was a dream come true for me to have the pleasure to have planned for Laura and Russell, the sweetest couple from the USA.
These two are too cute! From our first email exchange, even before our Skype meet-up, I knew that Laura and Russell and I would become good friends and that their vision for a Paris wedding was something that I wanted to be a part of! These two hopeless romantics are in LOVE with Paris and therefore all of their grandest moments in life, thus far, have taken place in this beautiful city. Paris is a city full of romance, potential and colour, especially in the spring!
The couple hosted family and friends, whom flew in from all over the USA, in this stunning maison du ville, on that glorious June evening…. The brightly coloured paintings that make up a part of the gallery space of this venue, inspired me in my floral choices as well as the invitation suite (and matching website) created and designed by Russell, a graphic designer. The water lilies painting over the fireplace was the starting point for this inspiration, and the rest as they say, is history.
Vintage brass candlesticks, bright pink peonies, and other colourful late spring florals teamed with teal coloured candles and soft pink linens made for a modern and soft feminine setting. It as very important to Laura that the decor wasn’t too feminine that it represented a touch of Russell and his colourful personality as well…..I think that this balance was successfully achieved!
Take a look at the following portfolio of wedding images, brilliantly captured by Catherine O’Hara and the video by the talented Tuan (coming soon) which will make you smile from ear to ear, just like Laura was, during the whole day of her wedding day in Paris!
